In my opinion it all depends on what your long term plans are. If Super8 is something that you want to shoot a lot of and you want Professional results I say get a Beaulieu 4008ZM2(My Beaulieu takes some of the best footage of anycamera I have ever used). If you just want a camera to shoot some film for fun then there are a bunch of different cameras like some of the lower-end Canons(514,518) or even Argus. I have had an Argus since I was 8 years old. Mine has jumped off of mountains been in a motorcycle crash and almost was run over and it keeps on going. Good Luck--I say look at what you want to do and then how much you want to spend and get the best you can.

If your looking for a reliable camera, that will suit your needs, since you are new to this, is a camera with a dependable name. Canon and Minolta are strong cameras (not the best, the Beaulieu zm2 is) but are super cameras to pass the novice stage. DO NOT spend alot of money untill you do research. Remember most cameras are 25 plus years old and will only last x amount of time and are very expensive to fix. You can find a canon 514 or 518 for real cheap on ebay, and even a 814 for less than 75 bucks. They're good cameras.
